Rent Hero is a powerful bill management and rental payment online web application. We provide a secure payment platform with diverse mobile payment options and functionalities that enables landlords and tenants to receive, pay and keep track of rental and tenancy related transactions online.This means if you are a landlord or property manager you can use Rent Hero to manage your tenant details,properties,units,invoices, payments and communications in one place.
You need to have properties or rental houses you wan to manage online. There is no setup fees required. Rent Hero works on the basis of pay as you go model. This means you will only be charged for service transactions,like; SMS sent to your tenants,payment processing fee and withdrawal charge for payments made to your SPS wallet. In your account you will see a service wallet, top up this wallet for your account to run smoothly.If you have no balance in your service wallet,your tenats will not receive SMS for invoices and payment reminders. Also you cannot receive mpesa to bank/paybill/till payments and finally you cannot withdraw from your payments wallet.
SMS-We charge 1.8 ksh for a single standard sms sent ,this cost could vary with the size of message sent to your tenants.

Rent Hero is a secure platform that ensures your data is protected and you can receive payments securely. We have put in place technical safety mechanisms and we continue to improve them to ensure that you can always transact securely and can access our services smoothly without worries.
We provide your tenants with several mobile payment options including but not limited to; MPESA, Visa/Mastercard,Pay Pal
When you create an account, you can link your bank, paybill or till number. This will give your tenants an option to send money directly into your linked bank account/Paybill number/Till number. This payments will be visible on your dashboard. When tenants receive invoice payment link, under lipa na MPESA there is an option for payment settlement method, your tenants should select merchant bank account/Paybill/Till. This will send the mpesa payment directly into your registered bank account/Paybill/Till.Normal payment processing fees will be applied.
Any other payment made apart from directly to your bank account/Paybill/Till will be settled in your payments wallet where you can withdraw at any time to MPESA.
You can link as many banks/paybills and till numbers as possible on our platform. You can assign this to your properties for tanants to receive invoices and make payments to your specified channels. This gives you instant access to your funds in your channels but you have visibility of transactions on our platform.
Yes, on Rent Hero you can generate Rent,Deposit and any other invoices you wish for your tenants. After generation an email and SMS notification is sent to your tenants containing a speacial payment link to make payment online.
To generate an invoice go to the tenants table, on the check box besides each tenant, click on it. A More drop down menu will appear. On this menu select Generate Invoice. On the invoice generation page you will see all categories of invoices you can generate.
Also our system generates automatic invoices based on the rent payment date you set for a tenant. The system sends an invoice 2 days before the rent payment date, and also sends a reminder on the due date.
Yes, you can do so from the tenants invoices page; select an invoice you want to send a reminder for, then on the more drop down menu that appears click on send payment reminder. An sms and email notification will be sent to your tenant containing the link to make payment to you.
When you receive a payment we send an email to you notifying you of the payment received.
If you are logged in your account and wish to change your password, simply click on the avartar on the top right. Click on profile and find the change password tab. You will provide your current password and then provide your new password.
You can send an account deletion request to [email protected] and we shall respond accordingly.
If you are logged in your account and wish to change your account details, simply click on the avartar on the top right. Click on profile, then find your info tab, provide the new details you wish to update.
If you have been licked out of your account and do not remember your password, you can easliy reset it. From the login page, click on forgot password. You will be requested for your username, then an email will be sent to you containing a password reset link. You will follow the link to reset your password.
Once logged in, navigate to the side menu on the left. Find the more menu, then click on Bank/Paybill/Till you can also find this link on the dashbord quick action buttons. You will be taken to a page where you can link your bank account/paybill or till number for MPESA payments. You can also be able to see your existing linked channels.
When you link a bank account/paybill/till you will be able to receive payments directly into your linked channel. You can track all this payments from your account payments easily.
When logged in on your dashboard, you will see a button to top up your service wallet. Once you click on this button a pop up menu will appear and you can find the different payment options availabe to top up your wallet.
Service wallet holds funds that are used to carter for your account service charges like SMS , payment processing fee etc. You will need to top up this wallet frequently to avoid service disruption on your account.
We do offer free support for the first 3 months for all our new customers. During this period we shall be actively involved in assisting you with account tasks such as adding your tenant details,properties,units etc. We shall also offer free training on how to use the system.

At the moment only one user manages an account. How you handle your account credentials is totally upto you. Always ensure you keep them safe and do not share with unauthorized parties.
